The Dancing Ghost of King Barbiro's Wife

As the sun sets over this nameless land, the lonely king sits and watches as the ghost of his wife dances in his hall. What a curse it must be to have someone so dear so near and yet forever lost.

Worse still is that over time the living learn to forget the dead. Not entirely, but more emotionally. For the first time in the years since she passed, the king watches her ghost feeling slightly... bored.

Enough shenanigans. Here's my take on the dance theme for the 'ol Club. Hope you like it.

Time Lapse - Light Study 01

Hello, friends. Here's a little something I did this weekend. It's only purpose was an exercise in portraying different types of light during a day.

There's nothing really there in terms of design or story, but I still think they look kind of nice, so up they go.

Hope you find them somewhat pleasing, sweethearts.

Here's my illustration for the Cyco Club's new theme: FROZEN. It's a pretty standard environment scene, I guess. On the next theme I promise to do a more narrative driven piece.

Also, I've included the thumbs I did for this. They look kinda nice together, and you can get a sneak-peek at the way I "find" the basic composition and values.

This belongs primarily to a new collective blog named Cyco Club (cycoclub.blogspot.com), where a bunch of us Ottawa artists are all producing weekly content. Most of the folks participating there are animators, but there's a few of us illustrators as well.
